Black Rain

DescriptionDirector Ridley Scott, who has created two thrillers most incisive and elegant Hollywood, Alien and Blade Runner, hits the mark again with Black Rain. Academy Award-winner Michael Douglas (Fatal Attraction, Wall Street) and Andy Garcia (Internal Affairs, The Untouchables) Play New York cops whose job to escort a vicious assassin back to his native Japan leads the two Americans in Underworld Exotic Osaka and right in the center of a raging, brutal “Yakuza” Gangland battle. Amazon. com VideoA essential guilty pleasure if ever there was one, Black Rain is a ridiculously entertaining thriller by Ridley Scott (Alien), starring Michael Douglas as Tough Cop New York – with her partner (Andy Garcia) – will visit Japan to provide a sponsor of the local mafia. When the latter escapes, Douglas brand of fight against crime gonzo rubs his Japanese hosts the wrong way. Slick, mechanistic, and absurd, the film is all surface action and attitude (not to mention Scott is incredibly busy, artistic director of the brand), and you can lose yourself in the indulgence of its creation. However, if you can buy Douglas as an iconoclastic judge, you can buy anything here, including the notion of Kate Capshaw as a blonde escort highly desired by Japanese businessmen. – Tom KeoghAmazon. coma guilty pleasure if ever there was one, Black Rain is a ridiculously entertaining thriller by Ridley Scott (Alien), starring Michael Douglas as Tough Cop New York – with her partner (Andy Garcia) – goes to Japan for provide a local mafia. • I bought this movie for my husband because his one of his faves. When we received it we found it was a Blu Ray edition and our DVD player does not support Blu Ray DVD. So I basically bought a movie I can not watch. It should have been put in the description that a Blu-ray edition for those of us who do not have Blu Ray compatible with DVD players. Rating: 1 / 5

  • I spent the last two minutes watching this, thinking I see the guy very cute – Adam Garcia – Coyote Ugly. Everything is better than Michael Douglas with a hair cut very bad. (Very dodgy – it’s practically a mule.) Unfortunately, they share the same name and same first initial, but Andy and Adam are two very different people. Both very cute though.Je must say that I’m not the biggest fan of Michael Douglas (this would be my mother), but I do not spend every second of his screen time wishing him to go . I’m not so bad. I can surveiller.Le film is mindless entertainment, with an interesting title – I must say that the idea of black rain. It’s a familiar story – cop bad guy, has teamed with the COP relatively good guy after bad guy, thrown into the wrong situation and having to struggle out of it. The situation is bad here in Japan, where American cops have nothing to say if this happens. Their escort YASUKA Matsuda, playing Sato (who died shortly after), and deliver it to the Japanese police. Simple no? Not so. Uniforms for police officers is no doubt recruited from the local shop costumes are worn, and Sato is delivered directly into the hands of the bad guys nice. Cue hysteria lot when the real cops return. Oooops! The film climbing from here, with rigid rules cop and a undisclosed location to try to get the nasty back in the right hand. Unfortunately, Michael Douglas plays roughly the same character he played in Basic Instinct, so it is irrelevant in this sense. Andy Garcia was not only refreshing, but it probably should have won the lead role. What happened to him happen to Michael.D other commentators have said this movie cop is very eighties and very cliché. Yes, it May be so, but those who watched Lethal Weapon examiners recently? This is the first eighties films. But Mel’s hair is pire.Black Rain is a surprisingly entertaining enough movie, not really what I expected, but still excellent nonetheless. Prepare to pay a little tear to Michael thing behind a fence. Rating: 3 / 5

  • This is a Blu-ray Disc – it does not say that in the product description! I made not once but twice and now I must return both copies. Rating: 2 / 5

  • I was a big fan of Ridley Scott and Michael Douglas for an extended period, which is the only reason I rented this DVD. I was so disappointed. Although I could see elements of Blade Runner in the atmosphere and music, the story was not intriguing at all. Michael Douglas could not do much with the role of tough guy cliche. The story is boring and too long. I did not like how it happened – I just wanted it over with. Rent before you buy. Rating: 1 / 5

  • Behind every cloud has a silver lining, so goes the saying. Black Rain is full of clouds. It is marred by poor quality, bad writing – it is dark and, well, black. But there is this glimmer of hope, and it is brilliant as legendary screen director Ridley Scott. Scott has been the common thread (the savior even) of B-movies similar grade, lifting them to heights they should not reach dramatically. It is Scott’s vision (albeit dark) that saves Black Rain. Scott’s favorite film noir works again (as in Alien and Blade Runner), his photograph and the choice of angles of view creates the mood and really helps add depth to an otherwise a scenario dimensions. The shooting location in Osaka, Japan, gives us a very different view of The Land of the Rising Sun (one that is very Western, very gravelly, and very disrespectful). And makeup and clothing departments deserve kudos as well. Both Michael Douglas helps greatly and now struggling with a subpar script that asks them to give the sentencing of cartoon characters. Due to the vision of Ridley Scott and his determination, there is a silver lining that Black Rain is not as gloomy theatrical release as it seems. Rating: 3 / 5
