Frances “Baby” Houseman (Jennifer Gray, daughter of timeless Hoofer Joel Gray) has been vacationing in the Catskills with her family for many years. Without incident. One summer, she falls under the sway (as it were) of dance teacher Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze). Baby is a pampered pup, but Johnny is a man of the world. Baby’s father, Jake (Law and Order’s Jerry Orbach), can not see the basic decency in greaser Johnny that she can. It is therefore not surprised that Baby, who can be as immature as her name, learns more about love and life – and dancing – from free thought Johnny than traditionalist Jake. Dirty Dancing spawned two successful soundtracks, a short-lived series TV, and a musical. It may be predictable, but gray and Swayze have chemistry, charisma, and all the right moves. It’s a sometimes silly movie with sometimes amazing spirit of dialogue – “Nobody puts baby in a corner” – Who is nevertheless an underlying message about tolerance and is filled with the kind of exuberant spirit that is difficult for even the most cynical to resist. After all the DVDs that were released Dirty Dancing, the movie is still in “Big Screen, so I gave this DVD 3 stars because the production company should have released the 20th anniversary format full screen. The stuff mailbox is very annoying. I want a full screen version of Dirty Dancing was released on DVD in the near future. Rating: 3 / 5
Well, now you know my alltime movie unfavorite 80. Of course his game in the early 60′s – tell me why the hell are they dancing to 80′s songs? I almost dropped Patrick Swayze after it but it was bought by the Roadhouse. This video can not be exercised by a pack of girls prepublescent at a slumber party who wonder what its like to lose their virginity. And I’m the only one who thinks that Jennifer Gray is a total dog? Of course she has a hot body but her face! UGGG! It’s the only thing that kept this movie from scorring with the guys in my opinion. This is one of the worst chick flicks ever. This movie came the late 80s and did not correspond to the period of time, maissent now so trite and lame. The plot, acting, and justesur all. Patrick Swayze has always been a overratedacteur, and how can you love Jennifer Gray? It appears commesnob Big Time whiney. The soundtrack has improved lafilm, but could not save the cheese reaked.Honnêtement this film, the 80′s were a decade of cheese and movies like ciFootloose and helped to do that.
